Prayer

I have given this topic some consideration since about 1972. Most of what I considered was something along the lines of "How can I reach God?" I have come to the conclusion that that particular question is secondary to "How is God reaching me?"

Oftentimes our prayers are a medium we use to get things done our way. I submit that God has a perfect way beyond our own understanding and our seeking is accomplished best when we pray with a heart surrendered.

A heart surrendered is one that admits that God is God. But since God is Love, then we don’t have to be afraid to surrender to His plan.

Remembered when you surrendered to His plan of salvation? We prayed for forgiveness and asked Him to come into our hearts and to take over our lives.

Then we proceeded to make suggestions as to how we wanted our lives lead. We wanted to move God to our way of thinking and doing.

God is moving us to His way of thinking and doing.

So, prayer is a conversation between Loving God and surrendered child. It is as individual as the personality of each child. And God responds to each individual – ah –relationship.

So, how is God reaching me? How is God reaching you?
